AI learning journey

Learning AI the way I learned merchandising: by doing.

Structured coursework, daily tool use in live sourcing work, and a public log of what holds up, and what doesn’t.

Why this page exists

Most of RMG hasn’t met AI yet. I’m making sure I have.

Garment manufacturing runs on experience, relationships, and spreadsheets. All three are about to change shape. I’m not waiting to be told how, I’m studying it, applying it in live merchandising work, and writing about what holds up. This page is the public log.

“An AI tool that saves a merchandiser two hours a day is worth more than a keynote about the future of fashion.”

Built, not just studied

Projects shipped with AI

Three live sites, all hand-built with AI assistance, no framework and no agency. The source for each is public. See the code on GitHub →

How I already use AI in merchandising work

Reporting & analysis

ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini run through the daily workflow, weekly reports, vendor data consolidation, supplier-performance and capacity analysis, production follow-up updates, presentation (PPT) preparation, and meeting prep, alongside Power BI and advanced Excel.

Business communication

Faster, cleaner correspondence with Poland HQ and 35 vendors, AI-drafted, human-judged. The judgment is the job; AI just removes the typing.

Writing & publishing

Research support for the weekly newsletter and daily posts, AI helps gather; fourteen years on the floor decides what’s true.

What I kept

  • The limit I set: AI drafts, I decide. Nothing goes out under my name that I have not checked.
